Walk for Trees
Walk for Trees turns employees' daily steps into trees. Every 10,000 steps becomes one new tree, and teams follow the progress in the app throughout the campaign.

Problem
Companies want two things at once: employees who move more, and climate work that actually gets done. Activity campaigns rarely deliver both. They open with a kick-off, and after the first week people stop logging anything.
What is missing is not motivation in week one. It is a reason to keep going in week three, and something that remains once the campaign is over.
What we built
Walk for Trees is a campaign app for Trefadder. The steps employees take during the day count toward a shared goal, and every 10,000 steps becomes one new tree that is actually planted.
Participants are organised into teams. Each team sees its own progress toward the goal, and the leaderboards run across offices and cities. Photos, videos and milestones are shared in the app along the way, so the campaign has something to show between the start and the finish.
A campaign runs in five steps: the company sets a number of trees as the goal, employees download the app and are placed on teams, activity builds progress, social features keep engagement up, and the campaign closes with a shared summary of the result.

We walked 10 million steps in two and a half weeks.
Result
Consort ran the campaign with employees in Trondheim, Oslo and Gothenburg and walked 10 million steps in two and a half weeks. That comes to 1,000 trees. The campaign started new walking groups across the offices, and the competition between the cities held up through the whole period.
The results of a campaign can be used afterwards internally, on social media and in recruitment. The trees remain once the campaign has ended.
