History

Apps was founded in 2008, at the beginning of the mobile revolution, when the internet truly became portable and small screens grew larger.

It was a historic moment where the rules and expectations were redefined. We have always challenged the status quo and continue our quest to create user-friendly solutions that stimulate both hemispheres of the brain.

Milestones

  1. 2007Steve Jobs launches the iPhone. We are inspired by the new possibilities.
  2. 2008Apps is founded on a opera pub a rainy evening on the 27th of november.
  3. 2008We launch Yr Weather. Norways most used application at all times.
  4. 2009The revenue from our first game "Kronespillet" helps us throug the subprime crisis.
  5. 2010The party is on! Everybody wants to join and have their application developed.
  6. 2011We move into new offices in central Oslo, an old pharmacy with a Michelin star restaurant in the basement.
  7. 2012We develop an app for a zoo using state of the art location technologies such as geo-fencing.
  8. 2013We are moving offices again. This time to Vulkan in Oslo. Close to a food court. Do you see a correlation?
  9. 2014Apps Lab Kft. is founded. Our development branch in central Europe.
  10. 2015Our first venture, Sonya, is launched. A expense management solution.
  11. 2016We have seen the light and have implemented agile and lean in all our projects.
  12. 2017The first almost annual Apps Games are held in Hafjell.
  13. 201810 year anniversary. Camp Appiness is aquired in Balaton - a place for events & fun.
  14. 2019Ramen is the new lunch obsession in the office.
  15. 2020Covid strikes! We adapt to home office and new ways of working.
  16. 2021We build a climate platform helping businesses reach their climate goals.
  17. 2022Chat GPT is launched. It affects us profoundly and marks the start of a new paradigm.
  18. 2023We do our first exit. Sonya is sold to Visma.
  19. 2024AppCloud is launched and we streamline our business for the years to come.
